NJ American Legion Statewide Parade, Services and Social
Sunday, June 2, 2024 – 89th Annual NJ American Legion Statewide Memorial Services
Back in the 1930’s, Locustwood Memorial Park donated graves/section to the NJ American Legion, for Legionnaires and their families, which is located by the Legion memorial and flagstaff. The cemetery is the only official American Legion burial ground in New Jersey. Since that time, NJ American Legion Posts throughout the state hold a Memorial Service honoring all our Legion deceased on the Sunday after Memorial Day.
“This Memorial Service is not a post or county observance, but the official Memorial Day service of the Department of New Jersey. We must have a bigger and better turn out of all veterans groups to prove to the people of New Jersey that we of the American Legion still remember and honor our departed comrades and that we will carry on regardless of all obstacles.” – Andrew Koleser – Chairman American Legion NJ Graves Committee 1941
Keep the tradition alive and be sure to come out for the 89th Annual NJ AMerican Legion Memorial Service – It kicks off at approx 1:45pm at Locustwood Cemetery, followed by a Ceremony by the American Legion section/Flag, and afterwards there is a Social/Buffet at American Legion Post 372, Cherry Hill.
Be sure to come out and meet members/officers from all our NJ American Legions !! Its a great opportunity to mingle, share news and events with our fellow Legions !!!
