Medal of Honor Recipient Interviews – Gathering of Heroes
On Thursday, April 17th, 2014, starting at 5pm, the Irish Pub, located at 20th and Walnut Streets, will host their annual Gathering of Heroes, to benefit the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation.The Gathering of Heroes is a night of camaraderie, good food and cheer and an opportunity to meet and spend time with America’s heroes. In addition to local dignitaries and celebrities, four Medal of Honor recipients will be in attendance. Marine recipient Barney Barnum, Army recipient Brian Thacker and Navy Seal recipients Tommy Norris and Mike Thornton will be on hand for the entire evening. All recipients are from the Vietnam War and their citations can be viewable by following links below;
There are only 75 living recipients of the Medal of Honor. This is a rare opportunity to meet four of these American Heroes.In addition to speaking one on one with these heroes, attendees can purchase autographed books, have their pictures taken with them and bid on unique auction items.
The American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill, NJ is providing a bus shuttle to this event as well. There will be two bus departure times – 5pm and 6:30pm from Cherry Hill, NJ to the Irish Pub. It is free of charge. If you are interested in coming over on the bus, reserve your seats before they are all booked. All proceeds of this event benefit the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. MC-LEF was founded in 1995 to provide support to the children of Marines and Federal Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty, or under exceptional circumstances.
