For the 11th year our community came out to honor and remember Cherry Hill KIA Cpt Greg Dalessio at the annual Cpt Greg Dalessio 5K Run/Walk held in the Knollwood section of Cherry Hill.

Prior to the 5K, Gold Star father, Tom Pagano, joined American Legion members Sue Quinn-Morris and Phil Beck to flag the 5K route with over 1500 flags. They joke that they could probably flag the route blindfolded after all the years they have joined together to flag.

The American Legion also provides bananas and oranges for the run, so runners can eat them after the race is over. On average there are 300 runners every year. Sue Quinn-Morris picked up the bananas and oranges and dropped them off Saturday morning at the race finish area, where Greg's family and friends were setting up the tables, registration and other particulars for the race.

Legion Riders, Art Schneider, Robert Arcinese, Sue Quinn-Morris and Warriors Watch riders rallied at the CVS Parking Lot and proceeded over to the 5K run route to help provide Cherry Hill Police with traffic control/road blocking as the runners came through the neighborhood.

After the race, Tom Pagano and friends picked up the flags from the route and dropped them off at the American Legion.

Carol Colucci, Sue Quinn-Morris and Phil Beck sorted through the flags, separating the good ones and the ones that needed to be retired. They bundled and packed up all the flags and stored in closet where they will remain until the next event that requires them.
