This will be the 15th year that we will be flagging the 5K route for the Cpt Greg Dalessio Memorial 5K Run/Walk. Traditionally it has been done by the same 2-4 people. We are hoping some others can come out to help this year. Understandably it is during the day, during the week, making it not possible for people working traditional hours. But…if you can help, please meet at the Legion on Thursday, November 30th at 11am. From there, we will take the flags (approx. 800) over to the Knollwood Section of Cherry Hill (off Chapel Ave – just down the street from the Legion). We flag the 5K route which winds around the neighborhood, even passing by the home where Cpt Greg Dalessio grew up. He had been assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, – he was killed June 23, 2008 in Baghdad of wounds sustained in Salman Pak, Iraq, when his patrol encountered small arms fire during combat operations.
