Thanksgiving for active military in South Jersey
On Thanksgiving Day, (Thursday, November 25, 2021) a warm welcome and a Thanksgiving feast await some out of state active military personnel that are currently training and are unable to be home with their families.
American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill will be hosting the Thanksgiving meal and invite local dignitaries, jeeps, military vehicles, residents, adults and children alike, to gather outside at the American Legion at 11am to provide a well-deserved and patriotic surprise welcome for them as they arrive with a police/motorcycle escort for a Thanksgiving meal.
WELCOMING CREW: If interested in welcoming them in, arrive at the American Legion by 11am. Bring a flag, or a homemade sign to welcome them in and thank them for their service!
JEEPS/Military Vehicles: If interested in participating in welcoming, arrive at the American Legion by 10:45 and line Jeeps up along field.
MOTORCYCLE ESCORT: If interested in participating in the motorcycle escort, meet at Wiggins Park Marina Parking Lot, Camden, NJ at 10:45am. Kick Stands up 11:10am. The escort will pick our heroes up and bring them back to the American Legion.
A brief Ceremony and meet & greet period will occur outside when they arrive at the American Legion, which is open to the public.
After the ceremony, they will be escorted in the Hall for a private Memorial for the 13 Servicemembers lost in Afghanistan in August, followed by a homemade Thanksgiving meal with their comrades. (Rain or Shine).
