OBIT for our dear friend and member John "Jack" Samson

John R Samson, age 76, of Maple Shade passed away on Friday February 7, 2025. He was born on July 31,1948 and was raised in Clifton Heights, PA and Woodbury Gardens, NJ.

Lovingly known as Jack, he found no greater joy than helping those around him. A dedicated father and husband, Jack also left a lasting impact as a Coach, giving back to the community he loved. As a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army from 1970-72, Jack proudly volunteered in setting up the Vietnam Traveling Wall, including guarding it overnight. He also made many trips to Washington DC to participate in Wreathes Across America, a shining example of selfless service.

Jacks benevolent spirit is carried forward by his loving wife Elizabeth (nee Clawell); his children Sean and Beth, with their spouses Lauren and Jamie; his grandchildren Mackenzie, and Olivia, Devon, with her spouse Mike. Preceding him in peace are his parents John Henry and Elizabeth (nee Geary), and his brother Arthur “Skip” Joseph.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, February 13, 2025 in Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ 08109, beginning at 10:00 A.M. - 11:30A.M. Memorial Service will begin at 11:30A.M. Inurnment is Scheduled 2:00P.M. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill 1532 Martin Avenue Cherry Hill, NJ 08002
