Walter Jankowski Obit – Legion Member since 1994
It is with deep sadness we report the passing of Walter F Jankowski. A member of American Legion Post 372 since 1994, he was a friend to many and will be sorely missed. RIP Walt.
Walter F. Jankowski of Cinnaminson, NJ passed away peacefully on Aug 5th, 2023. He was 74.
Walter was a lifelong resident of Palmyra/Cinnaminson. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during Vietnam then went on to have a 28-year career with the Palmyra Police Department, retiring as a 1st Sergeant in 2000. After retirement, Walt worked driving a school bus for Cinnaminson followed by 18 years as a sign fabricator for Philadelphia Sign.
Walt was a proud life member of the Nam Knights, Fraternal Order of Police, Independence Fire Company, and American Legion. He enjoyed ham radio, fishing, gardening, music, photography, motorcycle rides, his many friends and most importantly, his grandchildren. (He was a member of Post 372 since 1994)
Walt is survived by; his loving wife of 39 ½ years, Diane (nee Pierson); children, Jennifer (Kevin) DeLacy, son-in-law, Jamie DiMarco, Regina Jankowski, Jennifer Jankowski; grandchildren, Peyton DeLacy, Lily DeLacy, Aidan DiMarco, Colin DiMarco; as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog, Charlie.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather to pay their respects, with no receiving line, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning promptly at 11:00 AM, all at WEBER FUNERAL HOME, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, in the Mausoleum of the Apostles, Cinnaminson, NJ
