Sr Vice Commander Jack Walsh Honored
During the Cherry Hill Town hall meeting on May 24, 2022, U.S. National Guard Veteran John "Jack" Walsh was honored for his service to our nation.
Walsh, who has been a resident of Cherry Hill for more than 50 years, served as part of the Illinois National Guard from 1961 to 1967 where his rank was E6. Walsh completed basic infantry training at Ft. Leonard Wood where he was awarded a Sharpshooter Rifle Badge. He was also trained in Air Defense, at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Walsh served as an administrative clerk and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent.
Walsh has been an active member of his community, volunteering for the Cherry Hill Fire Department, the local food pantry, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, and American Legion Post 372.
