A Great Welcome Home for USN Seaman Anthony Rexach

On Friday, March 11, 2022, USN Seaman Anthony Rexach set out for a birthday dinner at the Olive Garden with his family…..unbeknownst to him, we all had other plans for him 😉 ….

American Legion Officers & members, Camden County Freeholder and Gold Star mother Melinda Kane, Camden County Veterans Affairs Director Ted Gallagher, Cherry Hill Mayor Susan Angulo, Cherry Hill Police Chief Rob Kempf, Cherry Hill Police Department, Cherry Hill Fire Department, American Legion Riders, AM Vet Riders, Centurions MC, Clayton Elks, Nam Knights MC, Warriors Watch, Mission BBQ and other community residents gathered together to give Anthony the rock star Surprise Welcome Home he deserves for serving our great nation! He just returned home from a 6mth deployment.

While we were gathering and preparing for his surprise at the American Legion, Anthony sat in his family’s car in the parking lot of the Olive Garden wondering how long they would have to sit there waiting on his brother to show up….of course his brother would never show up….he was at the Legion with other family members prepping the Legion Hall for Anthonys surprise party…

Imagine Anthony’s surprise when police cars and about 60 motorcycles came barreling through the parking lot, sirens, lights and revving engines descending on his car…

The impressive crew then escorted USN Seaman Rexach back to the American Legion where he was met with a welcoming crew consisting of his family, friends, community leaders, residents and Legion members.

A brief welcoming ceremony was held outside, along with an out of tune Happy Birthday song was sung – everyone had a chance to spend some time with Anthony before the party got started in the Legion Hall ! Tons of food, dancing and a great time was had by all.

We also had the opportunity to meet with him this week for lunch and a bon voyage as he leaves in a couple days for Mississippi, where he will be stationed for the next 5 years.

Welcome Home Anthony and Happy Birthday too!....
