Passing of George DuBell
It is with deep regret we inform you of the passing of George DuBell
Formerly of Cherry Hill – George Wamsley DuBell, age 60, of South Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home with his loving sister by his side. Born in Camden, New Jersey, George was the son of the late Albert D. and Dorothy (Wamsley) DuBell. George lived most of his life in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and came to South Dartmouth in 2008 to be a caretaker for his beloved brother-in-law. Mr. DuBell was a graduate of Cherry Hill High School West and worked for Prudential Construction and Schetter Construction. He was a proud member of the Cherry Hill American Legion Post 372 and the “Erlton Boys.”
He also worked in Boston where he was chef and hot foods manager for Marche Movinpick in the Prudential Center. A talented and creative chef he loved cooking for family and friends. He especially valued his time with his friends from the Sail Loft in Padanaram. An accomplished sailor, he spent many summers living aboard and sailing the family sailboat, the MINX, from Maine to New Jersey.
Survivors include his sister, Susan DuBell Gabert and her husband Jerry of South Dartmouth; a niece Amanda Walker and her husband Douglass of Brookline; 2 great-nephews Henry Walker and Thomas Walker and a great-niece Amelia Walker all of Brookline, MA, and 2 cousins Nancy Kenney and her husband Cliff of Maine and Bob Ryerson and his wife Ann of Pembroke, MA. He was the husband of the late Laurie (Nims) DuBell.
The family wishes to thank with gratitude Dr. John O. Myers, Greater New Bedford Community Health, Dr. Omar Eton, Boston Medical Center and Hospice Services of Massachusetts, Pamela Shea, RN Case Manager, and Bill Zuck, Social Worker.
