ABOUT THE BANDS OF BROTHERS AND THE BENEFIT CONCERT INFORMATION

12 Veterans, 3 Bands, 1 Cause

Bands of Brothers is a non-profit dedicated to letting veterans know there is hope, connecting them with people who can help, and raising money for research and treatment. Capitalizing on the popularity of reality television to reach a large audience the organization created Bands of Brothers TV. Using the power of music to unite and inspire, twelve returning vets will form three bands.

Their cause: to raise awareness and understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and provide support and treatment to their fellow vets living with PTSD. Their mission: to perform an amazing show for a packed house at the renowned World Café Live in Philadelphia. Their challenge: they don’t know each other, their songs or what it’s like to perform on stage in front of a large crowd.

Bands of Brothers TV will follow their story from the time they first meet through the big show. Guided by instructors from the Cherry Hill School of Rock, we will see them master their instruments and overcome the many obstacles that stand between them and a crowd cheering for an encore.

The Bands of Brothers Benefit Concert – Held on Veterans Day, November 11th at World Café Live in Philadelphia, the Benefit Concert is the prestige event of our year. Starring our three All-Vet Bands and featuring celebrity musicians and judges, the evening is the culmination of 10 weeks of rehearsals, challenges and surprises our bands have overcome to reach center stage.
Bands of Brothers is privileged to have Kasim Sulton as the concert’s Music Director. Kasim has assembled some amazing musicians to join him onstage including Mark Rivera (Music Director, Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band), Mike Visceglia (Music Director, Suzanne Vega), Andy York (John Mellencamp), Anton Fig (drummer, CBS Orchestra/David Letterman Show) and Mark Alexander (keyboard player, Joe Cocker, Enrique Iglesias, Gavin DeGraw). Between them there isn’t much they haven’t done and very few major artists they haven’t shared a stage with. Their creativity and commitment to our mission will make the Benefit Concert an experience of a lifetime. Those not fortunate enough to be there in person can watch the concert live online.
