November 11, 2012 – World Cafe, Philadelphia, PA. – 7:30pm
Every day hundreds of thousands of returning veterans have to face the reality of living their lives with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). But there is no reason they have to face it alone.
Bands of Brothers is a non-profit dedicated to letting veterans know there is hope, connecting them with people who can help, and raising money for research and treatment. Capitalizing on the popularity of reality television to reach a large audience the organization created Bands of Brothers TV. Using the power of music to unite and inspire, twelve returning vets will form three bands.
Their cause: to raise awareness and understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and provide support and treatment to their fellow vets living with PTSD. Their mission: to perform an amazing show for a packed house at the renowned World Café Live in Philadelphia. Their challenge: they don’t know each other, their songs or what it’s like to perform on stage in front of a large crowd. Veterans take the stage to rock against PTSD!
Be with the band on Veterans Day Sunday, November 11! Come watch the cast bands – Patronus, Opt2 and Article 15 – play live on stage for the first time at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live! Our pros Kasim, Mark and Mike, who’ve mentored the cast from the beginning (and have shared the stage with the likes of Billy Joel, Suzanne Vega and Blue Oyster Cult), will be leading the way with a rockin’ house band that includes guitarist Andy York (John Mellencamp) and drummer Anton Fig (CBS Orchestra/David Letterman). Special guests include Eric Bazilian from the Hooters and Marshall Crenshaw.
Show your support for the vets by buying general admission tickets here or go the extra mile and meet the bands in person with special VIP passes to the party before the show.
